In this online interview, the founders of CloudCruise, the AI automation startup helping healthcare companies streamline complex browser-based workflows explain how they plan to change workflow automations in healthcare setups. Founded by Adrian Ziegler, Felix Eckert, and Vere Whittome, the team brings together experience from Stanford, Google, YouTube Ads, and advanced AI research. Their journey began with a simple frustration—spending countless hours on repetitive online tasks—which inspired them to build a smarter, automation platform for healthcare operations. Following are excerpts of an online interview with Startupanz.com:

FOUNDED IN (Year): 2024

FOUNDERS: Adrian Ziegler, Felix Eckert, Vere Whittome

THE IDEA: What is the problem being solved by your startup / business?:

Healthcare runs on hundreds of legacy payer portals and EHR systems that have no real APIs, forcing health tech companies to build brittle browser scripts for eligibility checks, prior authorizations, claims status, and chart writebacks.

These scripts break constantly when portals change, and engineering teams spend more time maintaining them than building product.

CloudCruise solves this with deterministic computer use infrastructure built specifically for healthcare. Developers ship payer portal and EHR workflows in hours instead of weeks, and self healing automation cuts maintenance overhead by 90 percent.

THE FOUNDER’S STORY: When and how did you come up with the idea for the business?:

The founders Adrian Ziegler, Felix Eckert, and Vere Whittome met at Stanford and Google, where Adrian worked on computer vision, Felix on LLM interfaces, and Vere on YouTube Ads.

While building an earlier startup in 2023, they spent 20 hours every week manually checking hundreds of company websites to qualify leads. They wanted to automate it but found existing APIs too limited and existing web automation tools too unreliable.

They started building the infrastructure themselves, joined Y Combinator’s Winter 2024 batch, and pivoted into healthcare browser automation once they saw how broken payer and EHR workflows were.

WHO IS THE CUSTOMER: What is the typical profile of your target customer? Where would they be located?:

CloudCruise sells to engineering and product teams at health tech companies in the United States, primarily revenue cycle management vendors, AI scribes, prior authorization startups, telehealth platforms, and digital health companies that need to integrate with payer portals and EHR systems.

Buyers are usually founders, CTOs, or staff engineers responsible for automation infrastructure. Most customers are venture backed startups and growth stage companies based in major US tech hubs like San Francisco, New York, and Boston, though the platform serves any health tech team that needs reliable browser automation at scale.

LESSONS TO SHARE: What 3 key lessons from your startup journey you’d like to share with aspiring entrepreneurs?:

First, build for a problem you have actually lived. CloudCruise exists because the founders wasted 20 hours a week on a workflow that should have been automated, which made every product decision obvious.

Second, pick a vertical before you pick a horizontal. Generic browser automation is a crowded space, but healthcare automation has real buyers with real budgets and almost no good options.

Third, infrastructure beats features. Customers stay because the platform is reliable at scale, not because of any single feature.
