PDFLiner is a platform for working with PDF files (creating and editing files, adding electronic signatures, filling out forms) and electronic document management (cloud storage, form catalogs, document sharing, PDF conversions, locking and unlocking PDFs).
THE FOUNDER’S STORY: When and how did you come up with the idea for the business?:
There was a moment when we realized that existing PDF ‘bloatware’ was far from user-friendly.
Our team solved this problem by removing all the useless features and concentrating on user experience. As a result, we created a completely online and easy-to-use PDF editor.
After months of analysis, research, and customer feedback, we launched PDFLiner — an excellent cloud-based no-installation-needed PDF reader, editor, form filler, and form designer. Simply put, you can access PDFLiner from any device and just drag-and-drop a PDF into your browser to start editing it.
WHO IS THE CUSTOMER: What is the typical profile of your target customer? Where would they be located?:
PDFliner’s main clients are currently US taxpayers, who use the platform’s ready-to-fill tax forms to quickly fill out and sign documents electronically.
LESSONS TO SHARE: What 3 key lessons from your startup journey you’d like to share with aspiring entrepreneurs?:
The first key lesson is to friend and listen to your users so they can share insights about making the startup better. And also, do not forget to send the beta version to test to the opinion leaders of your field before launching the product.
The second key lesson is to trust your employees and let them do their jobs.
And the third key lesson is to gain investments to boost the startup. Many funds are ready to donate to your business so that you can spend money on paid ads or testing the marketing ideas.
