Most app builders can’t create functional AI applications – they build static websites or prototypes that break in production. Empromptu actually builds working AI applications that do real business logic and processing with up to 98% accuracy.

THE FOUNDER’S STORY: When and how did you come up with the idea for the business?:

Dr. Sean Robinson: Co-Founder & CTO – Dr. Robinson is a scientist and entrepreneur with deep AI and machine learning expertise. After earning a Ph.D. in computational astrophysics from the University of Washington—where he developed source characterization algorithms for a NASA/DOE Gamma Ray Telescope—he transitioned to roles spanning numerical simulation, machine learning, anomaly detection, and international nuclear policy. He’s led the development of cutting-edge computer vision algorithms, spatial object localization, deep learning for anomaly detection, and NLP. Most recently, he was part of the Madrona Venture Studio where he had the idea for Empromptu.

Shanea Leven: Co-Founder and CEO – Shanea Leven is an accomplished entrepreneur and product leader with deep expertise in AI, developer tools, and autonomous systems. She co-founded and served as CEO of CodeSee.io, a developer tools startup successfully acquired in 2024. Shanea has held leadership roles at top tech companies, including Head of Product at Lob, Senior Director of Product at Docker, and Director of Product at Cloudflare. At Google, she contributed to developing Google Assistant developer tools. Shanea holds a dual BS in Computer Science and Business, which has equipped her to bridge technical expertise with business strategy.
