NAME OF STARTUP: Scribe
FOUNDED IN (Year): 2019
FOUNDER’S NAME: Jennifer Smith
THE IDEA: What is the problem being solved by your startup / business?:
With more processes and applications than ever before, how we work has changed. How we share how-to has not kept up — leaving teams to rely on calls, meetings, and shoulder tapping to share processes and workflows.
As a result, employees and customers don’t have consistent access to the expertise they need and SMEs spend more time explaining and less time actually doing their work.
THE FOUNDER’S STORY: When and how did you come up with the idea for the business?:
Jennifer Smith – Scribe Co-founder and CEO, formerly at McKinsey & Company and Greylock Partners. Princeton and Harvard Business School alum.
Aaron Podolny – Scribe Co-founder and CTO. Former Google engineer (via acquisition of his previous company).
Yale University alum. Jennifer and Aaron founded Scribe because companies are adopting new tools and ways of working at a breathtaking rate, but they continue to leave behind the only thing that really matters: the humans.
Knowledge workers are adept at interweaving a multitude of tools and systems together into increasingly complicated processes, but this expertise has been nearly impossible to capture and surface.
Scribe changes that. Now, expertise is collected automatically, so everyone can access the know-how they need to do their best work.
WHO IS THE CUSTOMER: What is the typical profile of your target customer? Where would they be located?:
IT, Sales Operations and Enablement, Customer Support, Customer Success, HR and Startups
LESSONS TO SHARE: What 3 key lessons from your startup journey you’d like to share with aspiring entrepreneurs?:
