Traditional guides lost their appeal overnight due to Covid. Tourist destinations struggle developing apps and travelers can’t find the digital guide they seek.
Google maps lack interesting guide content and travel webs lack geolocation. Juggling the two sucks.
THE FOUNDER’S STORY: When and how did you come up with the idea for the business?:
Jan is co-founder and CEO of SmartGuide – a platform for digitizing travel guides. Jan holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and MSc in cybernetics, worked for global startups including Rocket Internet and has 10 years of experience in digitizing businesses with McKinsey & Company.
He is a passionate adventure traveler. Filip is an experienced SW full-stack developer and architect. He spent 20+ years in SW development, out of that 12+ years leading development teams. He is a lifetime self-learner with passion for clean code and new technologies.

Destinations, Tourist Attractions, Cities, Tourism boards, Tour operators, Tourists, Travelers.

SmartGuide is a global platform for digital guides that turns every phone into a personal guide and every tourist into an explorer.
Hundreds of tourist attractions and destinations use the ready-made technology to digitize tour guides quickly and easily.
SmartGuide app guides hundreds of thousands of travelers using audio, geolocation and Augmented Reality like a live guide, outside of the crowds, safe from Covid-19.
