Mp3totext.net solves the problem of turning spoken audio into usable text without forcing users into complex, bloated software. Many people—students, researchers, journalists, and creators—still waste time replaying recordings just to take notes, pull quotes, or create captions.
Existing tools are often too complicated or hidden inside all-in-one platforms. mp3totext.net provides a simple browser-based workflow to convert MP3 audio into editable text, TXT files, or SRT subtitles quickly.
THE FOUNDER’S STORY: When and how did you come up with the idea for the business?:
Mp3totext.net started as a side project by an indie developer who was tired of replaying recordings again and again just to take notes. Existing tools were often too complex or buried inside all-in-one platforms. The goal was to create a focused MP3-to-text tool that anyone could open and use quickly for everyday transcription tasks.
WHO IS THE CUSTOMER: What is the typical profile of your target customer? Where would they be located?:
The typical users are students, researchers, journalists, teachers, podcasters, and solo creators who regularly work with recorded audio.
They are mostly English-speaking internet users in markets such as the United States, Europe, India, Australia, and other regions where browser-based transcription tools are useful for study, interviews, meetings, captions, and content repurposing.
LESSONS TO SHARE: What 3 key lessons from your startup journey you’d like to share with aspiring entrepreneurs?:
First, solve one painful problem clearly before trying to become a big all-in-one product. Second, talk to real users early and keep iterating based on what they actually need, not what sounds impressive.
Third, keep the workflow simple and remove friction, because users value tools that help them finish the job quickly more than tools that try to do everything.
