Make it easier for small contractors to close leads and get paid faster

THE FOUNDER’S STORY: When and how did you come up with the idea for the business?:

Richard (COO) spent 10 years as a general contractor before starting Kanda with his cousin Rob (CTO) and friend Phil (CEO). Rob has a Ph.D. from Cambridge in Astrophysics where he learned to code. Phil has a degree in economics and previously built a hardware startup.

WHO IS THE CUSTOMER: What is the typical profile of your target customer? Where would they be located?:

Fintech, proptech, SaaS, Construction, Contech

LESSONS TO SHARE: What 3 key lessons from your startup journey you’d like to share with aspiring entrepreneurs?:

Kanda is building Affirm for general contractors. We allow builders to offer their clients financing options when they want work done but can’t pay the full price upfront.
