THE IDEA: What is the problem being solved by your startup / business?:
Deep shots combine wide shooting angles and deep zoom into single images with depth and impact. This happens by merging a bunch of images into exponentially growing, point based pixel grids. The method stitches differently zoomed photographs, map data or illustrations, while reducing storage space to the maximum. A point based pixel grid has not been existing yet, an invention was born.
THE FOUNDER’S STORY: When and how did you come up with the idea for the business?:
It started with some sketches the inventor created on sticky notes. Net structures were drawn and had been developed step by step. I tried to create the most effective way of dealing with the issue of point based zoom-photos. I soon realised that there is imho big potential and created a patent application. I then found a developer for the prototype and presented the idea on the website. Over the past decades the idea again evolved and a new software project was born. The Deep-Shot Converter 2.0 will soon be available for a wide audience.
WHO IS THE CUSTOMER: What is the typical profile of your target customer? Where would they be located?:
Photographers dealing with large zoom can be interested, as they can create zoom pictures by taking a bunch of photos while changing zoom. Deep-Shots can get incredibly deep, resulting in a nearly borderless application. The converter can also be used for creating Location-Deep-Shots through using map data. Also illustrations can be used for creation, infinite zoom pictures can be created.
LESSONS TO SHARE: What 3 key lessons from your startup journey you’d like to share with aspiring entrepreneurs?:
1. Think twice before designing the first prototype – is the idea ready for that cost intensive step?
2. Are the questions of legacy clear? Do you harm any copyright, patent or Trademark? Do you need an insurance?
3. How can your friends and family help you? They all have different abilities and you can often be sure they really want to support you.
