NAME OF STARTUP: Social Rise

FOUNDER’S NAME: Jennifer
THE IDEA: What is the problem being solved by your startup / business?:
Social Rise is a free Reddit post scheduler that cuts your posting time in half, shows analytics for posts and subreddits, and automates tedious tasks. With it, startups that are on Reddit can schedule posts for the whole week in minutes.
THE FOUNDER’S STORY: When and how did you come up with the idea for the business?:
Nothing spectacular here. I’ve been looking to build something to polish my coding skills. I’ve stumbled upon a Reddit post scheduler around this time and it seemed very poorly built to me.
Upon further research, I realized others aren’t much better. I thought I could improve on what’s currently out there by a lot, and the market didn’t seem too competitive. So I went for it, and here we are.
WHO IS THE CUSTOMER: What is the typical profile of your target customer? Where would they be located?:
Our product is aimed at Redditors who post often. Casual users can benefit from the free plan, while paid plans are aimed at those who use Reddit as a source of revenue.
Currently, the largest such segment we’ve discovered are OnlyFans creators, so we’re focusing most of our efforts on reaching them.
LESSONS TO SHARE: What 3 key lessons from your startup journey you’d like to share with aspiring entrepreneurs?:
Start immediately and figure it out as you go. You’ll learn faster and avoid analysis paralysis, which is all too common. Don’t let busy work suck you in – make sure you’re making steady progress.
It’s easy to feel productive by replying to emails and doing menial stuff, but it won’t get you anywhere, at least not promptly. Start marketing and looking for first customers way before you think you’re ready.
You’ll get useful feedback, which will help you make a product customers actually want. Or scrap the idea if it turns out they don’t.
