We all are living in a fast paced society, the modern age has influenced us all in many ways, this is something that we have to adapt to.

Before you go on about how fast time flies, the speed of the game is being dictated by the growth of your industry, and growth is determined by time management, this is something we need to do well.

In order to stay ahead of your competitors, you have to make it your goal to master time management techniques.

Here are the top five time management techniques you can use in the modern age to master your business.

1. Sit Down and Write Your to do list

You are probably familiar with the saying, “Don’t think about your work, just do your work,” or “Just do it.” This is what successful people and businesses say. What are the best ways you can ensure you keep your mind on the task at hand, and not in your distractions. All you have to do is write your to do list each night.

Don’t try and have the entire list done in one sitting, make it a plan, and set specific deadlines to give yourself a time limit to get your list done. Then, when you start your work, try to focus on one item and write it down, try and stop thinking about anything else and really concentrate on what you have to do that day.

2. Do an exercise daily

Yes, working out is one of the best ways to keep fit. But it also keeps your mind sharp and makes your body agile, making you focus on the goals and deadlines at hand One of the biggest advantages of working out is that it makes you feel better.

Feeling better is a sign that you are doing things right. It also works wonders to allow you to concentrate better and increases your focus. You also burn up calories and increase your energy. Another advantage of working out is that it helps you to give your brain a release, it makes you feel happy and confident.

3. Listen to Mentors and Coaches

Make a coach or mentor accountable for the goals you keep for the year. Listen to their advice and then decide whether to follow it or not.
I love books. I could listen to audio all day long. They help me concentrate and think in new and more complex ways of solving challenging problems.
Having something to read or listen to helps you to get a sense of things and if you don’t like what you are learning, you can always switch the book off and read something else. But it also helps you manage your time well.
If you don’t understand a word someone is saying, you can always go back and look up the definition, you can still get the gist of what the person is saying.
The same goes for your time, if you don’t understand a thing someone is saying, go back and make a note of it. If you don’t understand anything, go back and make a note of it. Having a notebook with you with your to do list, your schedule and something for a goal can help you get the gist of what is going on and what you need to do next.

4. Work Out A Master Plan For Yourself & Team

This is something I have used with my teams and I use it a lot myself. You can make a time management plan that keeps your goals and priorities in mind.

You can make a master plan for your business, what are the things that need to be done to achieve your goals, what is the most important thing and what is a priority. With a master plan, you can move onto your next task and you can be more efficient with your time.
