NAME OF STARTUP: Banter.so
THE IDEA: What is the problem being solved by your startup / business?:
Random moments of friendship and team building have dissipated as teams move to remote and async. Banter helps remote teams learn more about each other and build comradery.
FOUNDER: Raymond Sam
THE FOUNDER’S STORY: When and how did you come up with the idea for the business?:
I’m a Demand Gen/Growth marketer based in Toronto. Have built the marketing engines of some high growth startups like Wave and Ritual. As I was consulting with more remote teams, I noticed the lack of comradery that teams would normally build in an office.
Banter sparks spontaneous group conversations with ice breakers that would normally happen IRL.
WHO IS THE CUSTOMER: What is the typical profile of your target customer? Where would they be located?:
Culture and People Leads, Team Leaders, Managers, Founders
LESSONS TO SHARE: What 3 key lessons from your startup journey you’d like to share with aspiring entrepreneurs?:
Banter starts fun group conversations that develop trust, sharing, and friendship in remote teams.
Banter helps promote bonding and friendships in remote teams by starting group conversations on a regular cadence with thoughtful questions and by bringing up interesting topics.
